Mozzarella and Mushroom Pockets

Three ingredients that have worked together for years: mozzarella, onion and mushrooms. Here they fill pockets of grooved dough, sized to lift from the tray and eat standing, without a plate and without a knife.

There is a large tray of 20 pockets and a small tray of 12. The pockets suit evening events, receptions, an office Hanukkah party, refreshments for a home gathering, or any hosting where you want a savory, filling pastry alongside the cold trays. It is worth combining them with a salad or vegetable tray, to balance the pastry with something fresh, and the small tray is enough for modest hosting.

A mozzarella and mushroom pocket is an easy dish to love. It suits both children and adults, it is not messy, and it gives the table a savory pastry that complements the sandwiches and salads. The tray is dairy, and anyone setting a table with several pastries will find these pockets disappear fairly fast compared with the rest.

Is there a pareve version of the pockets?

Yes. Shakshuka Pockets are made of the same grooved dough, come in the same sizes of 20 or 12 pieces, and are marked pareve.
